The mission for Walnut Street Theatre's Education Programs is: to build audiences for tomorrow, to educate audiences of today, to enrich the community, to provide an outlet for at-risk children, to enrich the lives of children, to bring the arts to schools, to encourage arts-in-education and to nurture growing theatre artists.
Walnut Street Theatre believes that theatre is a profound tool for creating connections. Students learn to connect with their curriculum, their peers, their communities and their inner-selves. Theate creates bridges between the world of the student and uncharted worlds which students may explore in new ways. Above all we strive to create new opportunities for success for our students and to increase self confidence, strengthen collaborative skills, improve learning, and expand an individual's world-view.
