For over two centuries, Walnut Street Theatre has enriched audiences with world-class live entertainment. Shows began in an equestrian circus ring in 1809, and continue to entertain all ages today with Mainstage, Studio, and Kids Series productions. As the oldest continuously operating theatre in America, the Walnut is a National Historic Landmark that stands as a cultural beacon to those who love history, culture, and the performing arts.
To keep the future bright, the Walnut reaches out to the community with arts education programs. While school budgets leave culture behind, America's Oldest Theatre comes down from the stage to interact with other 111,000 families, students, and educators each year.
Your tax-deductible contribution helps maintain high standards for shows, and provides meaningful programs for new generations yet to experience live arts.
Meet our DonorsOur annual fund contributors (who we affectionately refer to as our "Angels") are the key to the Walnut's success year after year. Their dedication to high-quality, self-produced theatre and programming is very important to us, and each time we're able to achieve a standing ovation we remember to pause and give thanks to the donors who play a major role in that achievement. Please join us in recognizing our Angels.
