Donovan Lockett

DONOVAN LOCKETT is an actor-writer-educator who proudly hails from New Orleans but has made Philly her artistic home. She performs in theatre, film, and TV and has been seen on stage at Philadelphia Theatre Company, Walnut Street Theatre, Theatre Horizon, Hangar Theatre, Philadelphia Artists’ Collective, Mauckingbird Theatre Co, and Scranton Shakespeare, amongst others. For over ten years, Donovan has been teaching students in incredibly diverse communities all over the country and specializes in theatre and creative writing residencies. She most recently has taught at Ohio State University, Ithaca College, Wilma Theater, Theatre Horizon, Walnut Street Theatre, Arden Theatre, Lantern Theater, and 1812, amongst others. She is the co-founder of the alumni activist collective ICTA BIPOC and the co-creator of the podcast Black Light the Spotlight, which tackles representation and inclusion in the arts.
