825 Collective

For over 210 years, Walnut Street Theatre has proudly served as our community's meeting place and home for the arts, and we are looking forward to a bright future as America's Oldest Theatre!

Dedicated towards developing audiences from all areas of our community, and boosting networking opportunities, the 825 Collective seeks to highlight the Walnut as a welcoming hub for entertainment, while directly supporting accessible arts education activities throughout the Delaware Valley.

Our in-school programs, in the most underserved communities in the city, are shaped to increase self-confidence, strengthen collaborative skills, improve learning, and expand an individual's worldview, while introducing the arts as an outlet for creativity. Above all, we strive to create new opportunities for accessibility to theatre by working to eliminate economic and financial obstacles, as over 85% of the students served come from under-resourced neighborhoods where schools lack the funding to introduce theatre experiences.

The Walnut is much more than you see on our stages, and the need is greater than ever in our community! If you love theatre, education, the City of Philadelphia, and are between 25 and 45, we'd love to welcome you to our family next season!
