At the age of 14 Edwin Forrest made his Walnut Street Theatre debut on November 27, 1820.
This Philadelphia native would soon rise to stardom. Unknown in 1820, he was billed simply
as a "young gentleman of Philadelphia." A favorite debut role for young actors, he appeared as
Young Norval in John Home's tragedy
Douglas.
