During the 1944-45 season, Louis Calhern (left) and Dorothy Gish returned to the
Walnut in
The Magnificent Yankee. The play was a historical drama about
Justice Oliver Wendall Holmes and his wife. Calhern reprised his role in the
film version released in 1950.
