Lillian Hellman's
Another Part of the Forest came to the Walnut in September 1947.
The play was a prequel to her 1939 hit
The Little Foxes. It had a successful
Broadway run prior to its tour, and the show won three Tony Awards. A film version
starring Frederic March was released in 1948. The playwright is pictured here.
