1969
In 1969, the Haas Community Fund purchased the theatre and established it as a
not-for-profit organization. The theatre was in need of extensive renovations.
After a broad investigation of the building was completed, it was decided that
the only possible approach was to renovate the interior and restore the exterior
to its 1828 appearance, originally designed by John Haviland. This photograph
shows the theatre after the exterior restoration was completed.
